The A.P.B.A. is a not for profit organization which exists to control, govern & administer, formulate & enforce all racing & safety rules throughout Australia for competition between powerboats. It is an "association of associations", the affiliated member clubs are members of their respective State Councils, each with its own constitution. The six states collectively form the National Council. Members of the National Executive are appointed annually by the states. Changes to the racing & safety rules are also voted on at the (July) annual meeting by the states and clubs. |

The American Power Boat Association (APBA) is a New York non-profit, membership owned corporation that was created in 1903 by an act of the New York legislature as a racing association for powerboats. It is the United States sanctioning authority for the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the world governing body for powerboat racing. The APBA sanctions races in a number of different categories including the Unlimited Hydroplanes, Inboard, Outboard Performance Craft, Stock Outboard, Modified Outboard, Pro Outboard, Outboard Drag, Offshore and Special Events classes. |

At the meeting, it was announced that the International Hot Boat Association (IHBA) had acquired the assets of the American Drag Boat Association. The terms of the agreement, as presented by ADBA president Karl Petrik and IHBA president Charlie Fegan, are as follows: 1. IHBA purchased assets, trade name, and logo of the ADBA. |
