V-Drive Prop Slip Calculator

This calculator uses numbers that are familiar to people with v-drives. This means lower pitch props that are overdriven. Most other prop slip calculators are hard to use with v-drives, as they use Gear Ratio in a way not familiar to v-drives, as normally with outdrives and outboards the props are underdriven (with much larger pitches).

With this tool, pitch should be entered in inches per revolution, the standard measure of pitch. Most v-drive propellers are in the 12-17 pitch range. Ratio should be entered as the mathematical gear ratio. For instance, if you are running 22% overdrive in the v-drive, enter 1.22 for the ratio.
