Rusty Biesemeyer, Julian Pettengil and Ron Ehde took a hull(maybe a Aqua Craft Shark) modified it, built a mold and the current (wide) Biesemeyer that has dominated flatbottom racing for about 40+ years was born. The upper deck was designed by Rusty. Julian built the wide boat with at least 3 different decks. The Standard race deck(which we see most of) a long deck and the Ski Deck.

Bezer 18' Circle Flat Model

This is the same mold as the "Lil Biesemeyer". Ray Brown bought the mold from Norm Brown in 1986 or 1987, but would not pay for the Biesemeyer name. He named his company Bezer and produced hulls from the mold for several years.

Biesemeyer "Lil Biesemeyer" Circle Flat Model

Julian & Paul Edwards who owned Biesemeyer had saturated the market with the "Big Boat". Julian at the time, was dominating most of the races with that boat, so they decided it was time to build a new model. The "Lil Biesemeyer" was built. Julian felt he could go out & win, again, with this boat. And by doing so, stimulate sales. I believe Julian built these for about 3yrs or so before retiring. The mold & name "Biesemeyer" were bought by Norm Brown. He also brought over Ray Brown with the purchase. Norm kept the company going until he sold the mold to Ray around 1986 or 87.
